About Me

I grew up on the East coast, went to college in the West, now living wherever my military man takes me. I'm half Korean and my husband is half Japanese. Our two little cat children have Japanese names: Hana (flower) and Kuro (black).

I'm all-American, but my and my husband's Asian roots do influence my cooking and eating habits. For example, my favorite food is chili but I absolutely can't eat it without rice. And it's even more yum if you have kimchi. It's just how I grew up, so I didn't know that was weird until I had some friends over for chili night once.

Although I love to cook, my favorite is baking sweets. For the simple fact that desserts are pretty and I like making pretty things. These have been some of my favs to make: Berry Mousse Cakes and Nutella Coconut Macarons.

I love to challenge myself in the kitchen and learn new things.

  1. Love your blog! I was on pintrest looking for a strawberry shortcake recipe and came across yours. My husbands also in the military and we're always moving. I grew up on the east coast, we're in the south right now and hoping to end up west coast next. Love of all of your recipes!

  2. Oh thank you :) Sounds like we are similar~ I want to end up on the West coast too (as in Cali or Vegas...) but it's unlikely because the hubby's always wanted to fly C-17s. But we will see...thanks for stopping by!

    1. My only regret from when we decided to go Tones instead of fighters is that we have a smaller chance of getting stationed overseas. I hope you can go West coast like you're wishing, but overseas would be fun too!

  4. We have friends stationed in Oki right now and so far seem to love it. Being over seas for a few years would fun, but hard with having a little one. More so on our families than us!
